Ingatestone vs Galleywood - Match Report

25 Jul 2021

Galleywood turned up at Ingatestone and won the toss and chose to bowl.

The Ingatestone openers made a strong start, and Grobler had passed 50 before he was caught behind from the bowling of Felton. He struck again as galleywood started to find the right lines and lengths. Captain Blackman continued to find spaces and runs on his way to 58 and making him the top scorer of the innings. Storey had Berryman and Shah out which left Eaton and Hodgson to find the runs at the back end of the innings. After their 45 overs, Ingatestone made 238/9. Felton’s 4/55 weighed him in as the best galleywood bowler.

Setting about the run chance, Brace and Murray started well finding some boundaries but Murray was out for 18. Day was able to provide a steady innings for galleywood on his was to 39 but wickets were falling at the other end after Brace’s resistance was ended just 1 ball after bringing up his half century. Double figures from Rayner, Nurcombe and adams were useful runs for Galleywood in the chase but all were removed before reaching 20. Berryman proved to be a thorn in the side of Galleywood as he had 6 wickets by the end! Scoreboard pressure told for galleywood in the end as the tail couldn’t provide the final runs required. Storey’s 15 not out at the end were helpful but not enough. Galleywood were 194 all out. Berryman 6-36 and Brace 50 were the headline scores this time round.
